All seven cruises leave from Port Denarau Marina in Nadi and sail into the Mamanuca Islands. The right one comes down to four things: how long you have, who is travelling, whether you want an island or a boat, and whether lunch matters.
Finding Nemo (from FJ$139, 3 hours) is the easiest for small children, with a semi-submersible coral viewer and 90 minutes ashore. The South Sea Island Cruise and Combo Cruise also include a complimentary kids club and a saltwater pool. Ride & Slide requires children to be at least 3, SABRE sailing at least 8, and the sunset cruise at least 5.
Finding Nemo is the lowest priced at FJ$139 per adult for 3 hours. The Sunset Sabre Dinner Cruise is FJ$165 for 2 hours, and Malamala Beach Club day passes start at FJ$89 without transfers.
The South Sea Island Cruise (buffet), South Sea Combo Cruise (BBQ buffet), South Sea Sailing (gourmet morning tea and buffet) and Ride & Slide (light lunch on the afternoon trip) include food. Malamala Beach Club is a-la-carte at your own cost, Finding Nemo returns before lunch, and the sunset cruise serves canapés.
Malamala Island is a 25-minute vessel transfer and South Sea Island is 30 minutes from Port Denarau Marina in Nadi. Outer Mamanuca islands such as Mana and Castaway are seen on the Combo Cruise sightseeing leg.
Most include return coach transfers from Nadi, Denarau and Wailoaloa hotels. Coral Coast, Natadola, Momi Bay and Sonaisali transfers are included on some full-day cruises only, so check each tour page.
Fiji's dry season from May to October brings calmer seas and lower humidity, which is ideal for sailing and snorkelling. Cruises operate year round, weather permitting, and the wet season from November to April is warmer with brief afternoon showers.
